Job
Summary:
Perform financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions pertaining to the Accounts Receivable functions of the company.
Work as an AR team member to support business development and growth while mitigating business credit risk.
Essential Functions:
Required but not limited to Work in a team environment, while establishing and building strong relationships both internally and externally to promote company goals.
In the AR Team environment, support sales growth while mitigating credit risks by analyzing and answering inquiries from internal and external customers.
Collaborate with the Credit Manager to escalate collections of past due AR, to achieve company KPI's.
Enforce order holds as required to effectively manage customer exposure levels, collections and risk.
Responsible for promoting prompt payments to enhance company cash flow and reduce bad debt exposure.
Follow up on recovery of disputed claims.
Process manual credit memos for approved deductions and match to open receivables on the customer account.
Responsible for the collection of deductions that have been deemed to be invalid.
Check and monitor payments and remittances for accurate account detail and reconciliations.
Provide support to Credit Manager role including cross training for departmental coverage.
Facilitate customer account research, analysis, and issue resolution by communicating with clients and sales department resolving disputed issues and providing clarifications.
Work with Sales Ops to improve customer accounts and opportunity processes on Salesforce.
Support month end close processes.
Comply with company and departmental policies, procedures and performance standards including internal controls.
Complete administrative tasks and perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and
Experience:
2-3 years of commercial B2B credit experience.
A culture of continuous learning, developing Credit Department for sustainability.
Salesforce experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of disputing chargeback and deduction processes.
A tenacious proactive critical thinker with strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
Sense of urgency and dedication to our customers as well as the success of the organization.
Understanding of the billing and customer service activities, generally accepted accounting principles, and internal accounting controls.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across an organization and provide excellent leadership, operational, and interpersonal skills.
Motivation to be innovative with a continuous improvement mindset, and act as a change agent, all while focusing on internal control and risk-management.
Effective research and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy of AR reporting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Experience with ERP systems.
Ability to work in a deadline oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at many levels in the organization and external business contacts.
Must be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment personally and professionally when representing the AR team.
Including ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions, policies, guidelines, and processing standards.
Work Environment This job is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
Physical Requirements Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
The majority of the time is spent sitting, with some walking about in the office.
Lifts, carries and raises 35 pounds from floor to desk, from desk to shoulder height.
